Dear Kindergarten Parents,
Welcome to Hesse K-8 School! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Katie Nakelski and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher. I am excited to be your student’s teacher and get the 2020-2021 school year started!
I want to tell you just a little bit about me so that you can get to know who your student’s teacher is. I have lived in the Savannah area most of my life. Six summers ago, I married my high school sweetheart. We have two children, a little girl named Braelynn who turned three this summer, and a little boy named John Luke who turned one on April Fool’s Day during the resent COVID19 pandemic. They bring us so much joy to our lives. My husband and I enjoy attending college and NFL football games, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I received a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University in 2012. I graduated with my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong State University in May 2017. This is my ninth year in the school system and eighth year teaching kindergarten at Hesse. I could not be more thrilled!
I understand that each child is different and the teaching methods should vary to ensure each and every child is able to reach his/her maximum learning potential. I want the students to be excited about coming to school and excited about learning.
Again, I am so excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to send me an email me. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Katie Nakelski
